I create work within the intersection of memory, form, and function. with a background in classical drawing and sculpture, I am invested in the narrative potential of objects, exploring the ongoing dialogue between historical and contemporary material. how we imbue meaning into physical objects over time and how to blur the line between what we see and what we know.
writing also holds its own space in my life, through literary essays and free verse poetry. as someone who cannot bring visual images to mind with ease, I am reliant on translation between mediums in order to form resolutions in my work.
fabrication, for me, is a vessel for experience. I approach the craft with intentionality, feeding off of harmonies between balance and rhythm. to hold the traces of human presence, I often draw from archival research to engage with forgotten history embedded in materials and spaces. research allows me to uncover overlooked layers of meaning, to reimagine fragments of contemporary artifact.
in my work, I seek continuity, an invitation for interaction and refelection. to honor time and place and to evoke the quiet presence of objects in our lives.
